About Bentonite

Offering a combination of swelling, binding and rheology-modifying properties, Bentonite is used in foundry, construction, coatings, adhesives and oil & gas formulations where suspension, sealing and viscosity control are important. Its strong water absorption and colloidal behaviour help build viscosity, improve cohesion and reduce settling. In foundry systems it supports mould strength, while in coatings, adhesives and construction formulations it contributes to thixotropy, suspension stability and controlled application behaviour.

Bentonite is used in drilling fluids, foundry molds, construction sealing, environmental liners, and iron ore pelletizing due to its swelling and binding properties.

Sodium bentonite exhibits significantly higher swelling and is preferred for sealing and drilling. Calcium bentonite offers lower expansion and is used where controlled absorbency is required.

It is supplied as powder or granules in bags, jumbo bags, or bulk. Dust-controlled and pelletized forms are available.

Only specifically processed and certified grades should be used in food or pharmaceutical applications. Standard industrial grades are not intended for such use.

Store in a dry, covered environment to prevent moisture uptake and maintain flowability.
