Frequently Asked Questions

Important information about Ball Clay, grades and applications.

Ball clay is essential for sanitaryware, tiles, tableware, and technical ceramics where high plasticity and green strength are required.

The name comes from the ball-shaped lumps originally extracted from English clay mines in the 17th century.

Ball clay has higher plasticity, finer particles, and more organic content than kaolin. Kaolin is whiter and less plastic.

We offer ball clays with various plasticity levels from medium to very high, measured by MBI (Methylene Blue Index) and plasticity index.
